NFF Reveiles New Nike Jersey For Rio Olympics 2016

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have unveiled the Nike kits which the Dream Team VI will be wearing for the 2016 Olumpics Games in Rio.


The chairman of the NFF Media and Publicity Committee,  Suleiman Yahaya- Kwade, announced in May that the Dream Team VI would be donning new Nike kits for the Olympics Games and the jerseys has been unveiled.

Nike provided two strips for Nigeria's U-23 side , an all-green and all -white strips. The new kits have the Nike Logo and the NFF badge in front.

For the football event of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Nigeria have been drawn in Group B alongside Sweden, Colombia and Japan who they will first face on August 4.
Their second game is against Sweden on August 7 before facing Colombia three days later on August 10.


According to Nike, the new kit features a Dri-FIT Technology.

Nike Dri-FIT  is a high-performance, microfiber, polyester fabric that moves sweat away from the body and to the fabric surface, where it evaporated. As a result, Dri-FIT keeps athletes dry and comfortable.

The new kits is part of Nike's responsibilities in accordance with a deal they signed with the NFF in April, 2015.

The deal will see Nike kits Nigeria football national teams till 2018 or beyond.
According to reports the NFF will earn N743million ($3.75m according to the exchange rate of that time) during the three and half- year partnership with Nike and a N99million ($500,000) bonus if the Super Eagles qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia among other added incentives.


The NFF will receive N148m ($750,000) in the first year which will rise to N198m ($1m) each year in the three-year contract.
