Six days after the release of a uniport lecturer, Dr. Reginald Ohiri of the Department of Biochemistry, gunmen have abducted another lecturer of the university, Prof. John Okoli.
Prof. Okoli was kidnapped at the close of work yesterday and taken to an unknown destination.
Spokesman of the institution, Dr. William Wodi confirmed who confirmed the abduction, described the development as frightening. Wodi said the situation has become worrisome, adding that it has affected academic activities in the insitution.
Dr. Wodi then appealed to the kidnappers to free the lecturer unconditionally, urging government and security in the school to do everything in their powers to get Prof. John Okoli out.
